I think mostly because you have to read the books, or at least really study the whole idea of them to do it right? And i've never read the books. Or...wait, maybe i read the first one? I don't remember. I *did* see the movie, and while I really love daemons, too - it's kinda confusing, and I'm never sure of the 'rules', and so I have never ventured into it.

I would love to read a few good fics in my favorite fandom, too, but alas the one or two i *have* read really liked to capitalize on horror and torture and how awful it would be if THIS were done to the deamon/person and.... No thank you.
