IIRC, most of the fandom for Five loved whump. He was the whump Doctor. So I don't think you're alone there

5 is megawhumpy, it's just how he is, lean into it and accept it

Five is such a sweetheart and I love him, but I also liked writing lots of whump fic starring him. And if the show didn’t want us to find those situations when he’s in peril so hot, then they shouldn’t have had him be in peril once per serial.
