How would we know if there's really an option to say nothing, though? Liu Yifei is a Chinese national starring in a Disney blockbuster that is guaranteed to get an enormous amount of international press. How do we know that the government hasn't thought to lean on her or apply pressure on her to express her support?

yeah, like I said it can be tricky. for me it's like are comparable people in the same production saying something? is it full-throated support or something minimal? is this happening for every cross-country production and how intense was the sentiment there? are there party ties? that usually tells me what kind of space there is to say nothing.
