Nondescript smart kid, and my friends were all like indie nerds and stage crew dorks and emo geeks and that kind of thing

A mentally ill mess. I was getting treatment, but it was very poor and not at all what I needed. It actually got so bad that I ended up having a full on panic attack and had to drop out halfway through my senior year. But even if I had managed to pull through and finish out the year, I wouldn't have graduated anyway because I had missed too many days.

Music Geek. I was in marching band, concert band, and choir, and I used to cut study hall to hang out with my friends in the music room.

Tbh I was an utterly cringy mess. A twelve-thirteen year old in a seventeen year old's body.

I was the weird kid, got bullied a lot, didn't really have friends. I trundled along though, mostly just tried to ignore it and shut myself off from everyone.

Quiet and a loner. I spend elementary and middle school being massively bullied and high school somewhat bullied and mostly ignored. I had maybe a couple acquaintances and no close friends until senior year where one guy became my close friend.

I went to a fundamentalist Christian missionary school and in no way fit in. I was the girl who wanted a career and already had views that did not coincide with the views the school thought I should have (feminist ones, etc.). And I in spite of being a loner and quiet in other ways would speak up about my views when that sort of conversation happened. So the faculty and staff hated me too.

An ugly girl that was bad at maths, then I began cutting school in my junior-senior year and fucked up my whole life.

Kinda geeky. Was in art, drama, French, creative writing, the Literature Club. Didn't date until my Sophmore year (second year of the four years), and ended up marrying them for 30 years. Had 'popular girls' as friends and also the resident heavy metal head-banging stoner guys as friends.

Apparently scared a lot of people by not being afraid to speak up and tell people off. *Really* enjoyed hanging with my bff and talking in a fake English accents. :D

I was very shy in high school. I mainly blogged or daydreamed about my favorite characters.

I thought I was cool. Apparently, I was a nerd lol but I was cool with a lot of different circles (there wasn't a hiérarchie, or maybe there was and I was oblivious). I landed somewhere between emo-y to too broke for full goth, but def. Trying to live a fandom life (I can't call it cosplay because I would attempt to dress like my faves on the regular).

Idk. I'm gonna go with cool slightly weird artistic musical nerdy kid.

I was a stoner. Still am.

First half I was an absolute annoying cry-baby who got bullied a lot, but when I got moved into another year group I was the lol!random emo/wannabe-goth weeb.

I was a top performer at my elite magnet school, so the teachers loved me. I was an extroverted introvert whose parents had dragged them halfway across the world for middle school, so I was poorly socialized but somehow fell into a group of tight-knot friends anyway. My friends are largely loud personalities so as a whole, we stood out. I also ran the school radio for 2 years, so it seemed a lot of students knew who I was while I didn’t actually have a large circle, just the group above and people I was in clubs with.

Which I used to relate a lot to various jerkwad smartass characters because I’m sure it’s not intentional that they don’t remember others’ names, they just can’t socialize for shit despite appearances, lol.

Terrible skin, terrible fashion sense, no idea what to do with my hair, did well academically and took advanced classes but not among the top of the top students, somehow had a lot of friends and many more friendly acquaintances but not really through any effort or charisma of my own, apparently generally perceived as innocent and adorable in a way I didn't find particularly flattering, did not play sports or an instrument or do extra curriculars but was in Girl Scouts and liked to go camping, got a learner's permit the spring after I turned 15 but did not bother getting a driver's license until my parents made me the summer after my senior year, nice home life, listened to a lot of Enya, never dated anybody but went to lots of dances stag.

Spent more time gaming and collecting weeb stuff than studying. Cruised by with just barely enough effort to graduate - hated school on account that I simply wasn't interested in any of the course subjects, had trouble sitting still and focusing, and was acutely claustrophobic alongside having a full blown mental issue with fluorescent lighting. :p

I simultaneously thought I was better than everyone, and thought I was trash.

I behaved relatively extroverted and outgoing. I wasn’t part of the popular group by any means, but I had plenty of friends and I was kind of the group leader, in so far as there was one. My GPA was around 86% most of the time.

I must’ve seemed relatively well-adjusted. But I hated school, I didn’t like myself very much, I was miserable and anxious all the time, I was secretly low-key anorexic and a self-injurer, I never felt like I really understood my classes, I never had any energy, I never wanted to do anything except go home and do my own thing by myself.

Intensely depressed, self-harming at times, full of confusion and self-loathing. I was one of those 'Gifted Kids' who never learned how to learn, and who was told way, way too late that part of the problem was having ADHD.
Also I was a huge fucking nerd and would word-vomit knowledge at people at the slightest provocation. I had friends, though, and I liked them.
I miss them.

I was an idiot and pathetic. I had no social skills and wasn't aware of it. The friends I did have hated me but apparently pitied me too much to kick me to the kerb. My teachers hated me too. I was just really annoying. I can't bear to think about most of my time there and nowadays I try not to talk to anyone at all.

Currently having a rewatch of the classic Hollywood universal horror - just finished Dracula and the Wolfman and thinking of watching Frankenstein next.

Also have a huge soft spot for the Van Helsing movie starring Hugh Jackman.

the loner only sort of by choice.

By the time I reached 11th grade my "best friend" from 7th (when I first went to new school my sister had just graduated from) decided she wanted to be popular and I didn't fit with her 'popular' thing. So the bullying/shunning/gossip and lies began (again.) By then the cliques in this tiny school (graduating class size 30) were set. I started sitting by myself more and focusing on my art/writing and listening to metal (like System of a Down, not NIN) on top of the golden oldies/classic rock and Ska. (My music choices are not normal, I know.) I was a theatre kid too but then best friend joined and it kind of blew up a bit. (she wouldn't memorize her lines and yeah.) Everyone else was in choir, I and like 2 other guys (the hot ones) were in art. I was just quiet and tried to keep my head down until I could get out of there.

I guess everyone was getting really sick of my ex besties nonsense, but no one was willing to come actually talk to ME about it for some reason? We were all teenagers, out of our pay grade. I was SO OVER high school, especially conservative christian high school. My parents are super lucky I wasn't a rebellious child.

The kicker is my parents insisted I go there to get "a better education" and my dad constantly picks on me for my 'lack of education.' Where I would have been better OFF going to the local HS like my cousin. But noo... they have Sex Ed and GIVE OUT CONDOMS. But err, my OTHER Bully from church went there so, we sort of needed to CHANGE towns to be closer to dad's work and mom's doctors which never happened.
