I want to note (as someone with DID) that introjects of fictional characters are actually common, and not just an internet thing, though of course some people are flippant and weird about the concept online. A lot of people don't know that, and the concept can be kind of strange to wrap your head around if you're not familiar with it, but it's completely possible to have fictives in a DID system.

I didn't mean people who really have DID so I am sorry if I offended you. I was talking about the people who pick and choose their alters or otherkin because they like them or they are cool or they want to be edgy/more interesting. Not people who have real mental health issues.

Don't worry, I'm not offended at all! I just wanted to say that because it's something many people have an inaccurate impression of.

Also, I get being frustrated by people who seem like they're faking symptoms (I've met some people who have been confirmed to be faking things like that, myself) but I hesitate to make that judgement of anyone who I don't know, because there isn't only one way DID can look, and sometimes it can manifest in pretty strange ways. DID absolutely doesn't excuse harmful behavior (neither does otherkin, for that matter), but as long as someone isn't causing any harm I'm not going to question their motives in that way, personally.
