Weekend Plans

[personal profile] kaijinscendre 2020-10-16 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
What is everyone doing this weekend?

Tonight, I am watching my niece and nephew so my sister and BIL can have some alone time. Tomorrow, I can hopefully relax with the new episode of NoSleep Podcast.

I haven't heard it but NoSleep doesn't sound like it would be a relaxing podcast.

I'm doing laundry and keeping an eye on my dog because he's been a bit off this week. He's old and I'm worried.

Eh, some of the stories can be pretty boring. Depends on what kind of horror they go with.

Have the house to myself. Relaxing, playing with kitty, probably listening to some music and either watching some stuff on Animal Planet or watching some Original Series Star Trek on my computer.

Have fun relaxing! What is even on Animal Planet these days?

Reruns mostly, but I haven't seen everything, so I don't mind. I like Dr. Jeff Rocky Mountain Vet, The Vet Life, Animal Cribs, several different zoo shows, My Cat From Hell, and Pit Bulls and Parolees.

I got my ballot today, so I'm going to fill it in tomorrow and mail it. Then I have to do some research for a paper on how to prevent teen pregnancy.

Make sure you read them carefully! Our ballots in Oklahoma were a bit confusing. I got it notarized just in case.

Also make sure to double check that it's a legit ballot going to a legit address; there are fake ballots and fake ballot boxes popping up all over. :(

I have music to compose and I might play some Elite Dangerous.

Numenera: IDK, probably not gonna happen this week.

Working the polls... I hope I don't fuck it up or run into anybody who I really, really cannot deal with without a punch in the face.

Thank you for doing poll work; I hope you don't run into anyone who deserves a punch either.

Good luck! I know how hard that is. Are you just running them for early voting?

Re: Weekend Plans

(Anonymous) 2020-10-16 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I will be working a few days during early voting, yes. I had considered Election Day but I'm too selfish to want to get up at 4 AM and too cowardly to deal with a potentially nasty situation after hanging around for 12 hours or more.

How old are your niece and nephew?

I'm doing my usual weekend errands like laundry and grocery shopping and house cleaning, plus hauling more dirt for my raised beds. Four and a half down, one to go, but each one has 32 sq ft of dirt, more than a cubic yard. I am gonna grow so many veggies.

Also gonna donate money to planned parenthood in ~honor~ *spits* of our probable new Supreme Court justice.

There is a women's protest march tomorrow downtown, but the only protest I've been to since COVID kicked in is a BLM one I could walk to; taking public transit to a big crowd, even a socially distanced masked one, seems risky, especially now that I work with the public and take public transit to work already.

My niece is almost two and my nephew is seven.

I've not been watching the news as closely as I should. It has been very tiring lately. :(

Right now I'm listening to Bill Hader on Eli Roth's History Of Horror: Uncut podcast. I have some money on my Amazon gift card balance from my birthday earlier this year that I haven't used for months (because I thought COVID-19 would hitch a ride on the packages!), so I may finally choose some books to be delivered. I have to wash two heavy, large down/fleece blankets, and I may do some light dusting around the apartment.

How is Eli Roth as an interviewer? Some of the guests look interesting and I need some new podcasts to listen to.

His voice sounds unenthusiastic. This was my first time listening. I only tuned in because of Bill Hader. I guess Eli was okay as an interviewer.
