It has nothing to do with people getting squicked. It's the way people 1. talk about the ship (calling Sesshomaru a "child groomer") 2. act like shippers are committing an immoral act by liking it. If it was simply people being disappointed because the ship squicks them we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Because it is child grooming. A rose under another name is still a rose, and an adult who regularly brings romantic gifts to a child to make them like him is a child groomer. And a kimono is considered a romantic gift in Japanese culture, which is what he gave her at the end of the series, when she was 11 (he's known her since she was 8).
