Agree about Rin/Kohaku.i feel like that was at least...given the possibility of a ship at some points throughout the show? Not overt, but...suggestions.

It seemed like a really strange choice to push Kohaku, Rin and Sess together for some time and then pull them apart for the final battle. Especially since them being a little team just gets dropped afterwards.

I have a sad feeling that the team up only happened because they needed to put Kohaku somewhere. It just so happened to be a good match when they started writing it. But since it wasn't planned and they intended for Kohaku to be back with his sister for the last battle, the teamup was dropped.
