Re: Anon Check-in/checking up
(Anonymous) 2020-10-19 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)Still no night owls yet on film. I can hear them though and I saw a young-ish looking one awhile back resting in the trees in the early morning.
Spotted a cute quail recently which I was very happy for on account that I haven't seen them around much this year. It used to be fairly common to see families of them skittering across the bush field a couple streets down.
Lots of deer have been in town this week. There was a fire up in the mountain a few weeks ago and they're probably still looking for food down here in the valley.
Sick Bird Anon?
(Anonymous) 2020-10-20 01:20 am (UTC)(link)Re: Sick Bird Anon?
(Anonymous) 2020-10-20 03:17 am (UTC)(link)I know just enough to know that they a) can't infect people b) there are lots of different ones c) some of them are corvid specific d) some of them can cause arthritis in chickens.
*knocks on wood* we haven't seen or heard about any more sick or dead crows, although the local flock, or what's left of it, hasn't been back to our patio or the mall it's in.
My neighborhood flock seems okay.
