Re: What One Thing Do You Hate To Admit?

Just how bad I am at math. When people say they’re bad at math, they usually mean they found stuff like algebra difficult, but can do basic math and things like that. I can’t do basic math in my head, I mix up numbers, forget steps, can’t subitize, and can’t tell time well on an analog clock. It’s very embarrassing that my eight-year-old niece is better at math than me and I try not to let anyone know just how bad I am at math.

Oh man, SAME. It's so embarrassing as an adult! I'm just thankful phones have calculators now. It saves me so much humiliation.

My husband is a math major and tutors kids in calculus and he's terrible at arithmetic in his head. Don't feel bad.

Dyscalculia? Because if so high... five? Bad joke, sorry.

My 7 year old niece is better at maths than me, but at least in my case I do have a reason: dyscalculia, which honestly sounds like you might have too? It's a real struggle to deal with and I keep it to myself as much as possible because people can get really rude about the 30 year old lady who needs to whip out her phone to add up simple sums.
