I have an English Lit degree, and I do not have a deficit in education or life experience. That's unnecessarily judgy OP.

I'm at a point in my life where I prefer reading about characters I already care about. It's also extremely difficult to find published fiction in my preferred genre (hurt/comfort). I've searched the web a lot, and all I can find is self-published slash novellas with synopses that I can't even finish. I'll stick with fanfic for now.
