Re: What's the worst or most nonsensical case of OOC-ness you've ever seen in a fic?

That is bizarre, because Harry's got a whole lotta attitude in the books lol.

Did the author not warn for it, or tag it [characteristic]!Harry?

no! they didn't warn for anything! they just sort of gradually increased the anxiety-disordered-ness level of Harry over the course of the story until it was so bad that I couldn't take it anymore and un-bookmarked the fic vowing not to torture myself anymore. Everything else about the fic was AMAZING (it was a crossover with Good Omens where Harry runs away and gets adopted by Crowley and Aziraphale and the crossover stuff was handled really really well.) Now I think about it, I think they were actually trying to make it be that Harry was emotionally disturbed as a result of living with the Dursleys? and that he had basically Vietnam-veteran-levels of PTSD from it? But there was ZERO warning or explanation that that was what they were doing, and it had NOTHING to do with the actual plot. it was just tossed in there like some kind of bizarre side detail.
