Unrelated to fandom, but I recently read the wikipedia page for Haiti and the section on the US occupation in the early 20th century made me want to do violence - mainly to whoever wrote it. It was all 'The Virtuous White Man came and helpfully took over the country! And used slave labour to build Very Useful Infrastructure! And Haitian historians say thousands and thousands of people died, but pfff, who listens to them?'

Presumably there is more recent, accurate scholarship out there that isn't just "white saviors are awesome!" that you could cite if you edited the page to be less gross.
