I tried to get into the manga, but I read a few chapters and somehow it just... didn't do it for me, and I felt bad because I usually end up liking the manga better than the anime.

Yeah, it was that way for me too. I mean...I normally try to be pretty open to new formats of my favourite fandoms, but I just couldn't get into it. It's like the OP said for me; I just couldn't get as emotionally involved as the anime got me. I probably wouldn't have even touched the manga, and grown to appreciate it in it's own way, if I hadn't fallen madly in love with the anime first.

Funny how life works that way sometimes.

Ignore the RP journal... but yeah, that was exactly it. The anime just hit me on an emotional level that the manga didn't, so I just didn't feel the urge to keep reading the manga. I'm sure it's good, but it just didn't do it for me.

Yay, Colette. I never played the game, but a lot of my friends are fans. XD

I kept reading the manga because it's pretty good, but...the anime was so special for me. I've been into it for...what? Almost four years? And the strange thing is I haven't once lost that interest. I'm still as in love with it as when I first found it, which pretty much shows how much of an emotional impact it had for me.

Colette is utterly adorable.

I still have fond memories of going over to my friend's dorm room every week to watch the fansubs when they were released and then squeeing about the ep in the cafeteria with our other friends. It's been a while since I last watched any of the episodes, but if I had the time I'd love to sit down and watch it again. I don't think I'd get tired of it.

She is. Seriously, every time I see a picture of her on the 'net I have to resist the urge to hug my computer.

I have similiar memories, and I don't think I'd ever get tired of it either. I sort of used the series as a way of bonding with my younger sister, and even now that she's lost interest and moved onto other stuff...thinking back on those nights when we used to sneak down and watch entire seasons, while munching on junk food and just talking...it makes that series even more special than it already is. :)

The memories really do play a huge role, I think... just thinking about it makes me happy even though it's years later and I've graduated from college. I wonder where my DVDs are...

I should really watch the series again too. I haven't seen it in...goodness, quite a while. Just so busy lately, it seems. O_O'
