I'm of the opinion that haggling is fine (and a useful, difficult-to-hone life skill) but this here ain't it. Neither is guilt-tripping people by whining about your hardships. It's all just passive aggressive bullshit.

Haggling is identifying a product/service you want and naming the price you're willing to pay. No reasoning, no backstory. If you tell me to take a hike, I won't take it personally. I hope you won't take it personally either that I'm negotiating, but this being art, I get that some people might.
