I'm gonna take this opportunity to vent too, since probably no one will see it:
I have very conflicted feelings about my parents buying a house for the purpose of renting it out. The housing market where we live is absolutely terrible, and it's hard not to think that they're contributing to the problem. On the other hand, I do trust them to be fair and reasonable landlords.
On the third, slightly further off hand, I know that I might just be pissed off that I know they're planning to leave all properties to my brother and nothing to me. I'm also pissed off that they haven't told me (I only know because I overheard my dad on the phone to my brother).
