There was a spelling error? I was just using your last sentence to butt in about The Daily Show. I learned to let go about grammar errors a long time ago, because there's a law where, when commenting on someone's grammar or spelling, you will inevitably make a similar error.

I think it's called irony.

I do love The Daily Show.

I could give up on it, but it's my major. And I do, always, end up looking a bit of ass when correcting someone else's grammar on the internet [once even writing "grammar" with an 'e'].

It was also mine, but I also studied linguistics which taught me that nitpicking grammar was actually used as a tool of oppression. Considering a year before I had written a paper entitled, "Comma Schmomma?: The Misuse of Grammar in Downsland Mall," I felt rather guilty.

Well, shut my mouth wide open. I've always seen it spelled the way I corrected it for all matters.

I stand by my general annoyance and retract my grammarian tendencies.

Looking around online, it's only the correct spelling for Jackson Pollock and an 18th century Scottish Jurist; the fish is preferentially spelled "pollack" and the ethnic slur "polack."
