They are not only not obligated to write what you want them to, I would not blame them if they mocked the shit out of you. It can be terribly frustrating when there's no fic for a pairing/pairings you're interested in, but NO ONE IS OBLIGATED TO WRITE WHAT YOU WANT TO READ. They're going to write what they want to write. Seriously, though. Maybe most of it are following the series because, oh... WE LIKE THE SERIES AND THE CHARACTERS? And the series isn't about "Alucard and Integra's Sexy UST Funtiems!" at least since I last checked. I like all the characters, not just them, and am more interested in most other aspects of the series than I am in shipping it, thanks.

... Which is pretty odd for me, actually! But besides Pip/Seras and and potentially Heinkel/Yumiko/Yumie from the random Vatican extra comics, I ship a bit, but not actively.

Still, the first part of your secret is ridiculous. Those two characters are fucking awesome playing off each other, and are cool together, ship-wise or not, yeah, but they're also both way too fucking badass for you to imply that there's no way to enjoy the show unless they're shipped. Fuck, Integra would kick your ass for that one. >/

144. Thisthisthis. My enjoyment of Hellsing probably would have gone down quite a bit if it had focused on shipping too much. I like how it became canon at the very end, as opposed to all the way through, anyway.

I like Hirano's sense of displaying romance: kill for the beloved! Even Pip and Seras, their courtship was in how many heads and people they torn apart together! :D :D

Alucard killing for his "lady" is an example of this too.

I like how romance isn't a distraction or mushy interlude in Hellsing, but neatly part of the plot what plot gore! It's kind of refreshing, really.

Yes, I like it brings dark and fucked relationships and doesn't make them UNHEALTHY for the people involved, they are just screwed up with their enemies. It's a win/win situation.

Unhealthy relationships are OK as long they aren't glorified as romantic (looking at YOU, Twilight). I love Dietrich/Radu in Trinity Blood can't get more fucked up than Dietrich/ANYONE.

My favorite atm is TOTALLY vanilla hurt/comfort: Shahrazad/Esther. Dietrich/Esther still ranks very high but re-reading ROM IV AND the newest manga chapters (with the yuri fanservice Kiyo keeps publishing on the spreads) made my heart break.

The only canon couple I like (which is actually the ONLY canon couple) is Red Mars!Abel/Lilith. When, you know, he was an emo world hating psychopath out for blood and she gently (and not so gently) laid down the smackdown on him.

Tres/Caterina is cute too, sniff poor Tres.

I tend to canon-based (and crackliciuous on side) but then... if I don't like relationships in my fandoms, or female characters, I stop watching/reading.

Mostly word; I think tastes are tastes. The OP apparently meant their relationship in general (at least in page 7 said they meant that?) which... actually I think the secret was badly worded. WTF. I can see, in THIS vein, where the OP is coming from. Because basically the plot of Hellsing is moved in what Alucard kills for Integra and all that.

Would have agreed with you until the epilogue was published. I think Seras would kick anyone's ass for splitting apart her Masters after that. She's like the number one AxI fangirl.

Oi, I can't believe some AxI shippers STILL bash her after the epilogue. Get out of my side of the fandom. Wasn't it obvious she was never a "threat"? Pip's her man.

Oh, yeah, definitely. Seras would kick the ass of anyone splitting them up. >| BUT ALSO I think even after the epilogue Integra would kick someone's ass for implying that she's not interesting/badass without being shipped with Alucard at the same time. I could watch an entire story arc that was just Integra being badass and be a happy, happy fan. |D But that may just be because Integra was totally my first epic anime girlcrush so yeah.

... oh god there was Seras-bashing in the fandom why am I not surprised. At least tell me that people didn't start calling her a "slut" when the manga made her and Pip canon?

RIGHT. I think them as Seras' surrogate "parents". A Pip fic dealing with his in laws would be hilarious.

Hahahah, yeah to a point -- I think Alucard & Integra are a bit symbiotic (would Integra be as interesting if she didn't seme bitch Alucard around? Would Alucard be interesting if he didn't bottom to Integra? Look at Dawn, Alucard is a caricature of himself, used as comic relief and getting owned. Nah, not interesting). Nowhere as Seras and Pip, though, I think Seras and Pip stood as characters while they were together, Alucard and Integra get some independence but they are still very complementary characters most of the time (their arcs were to be reunited eventually, in a way). That's cool with me.

There's very little NOW back when the TV series was big, there were lots. However, Pip and Integra bashing? Galore. Ever read AxS fics? They are painfully OOC with Alucard getting Pip's personality. And Seras being a Mary Sue *wince* Integra and Pip are obviously casted as villains...

Nope. Never. Although some denial-AxS fans said she was "unworthy" of Alucard and would have redeemed herself to be with him. Because obviously made a bad choice.

Integra = MY girlcrush too.

I so knew AxI was inevitable since v1, chapter 2, but didn't like it until Alucard won a layered personality in v8. XD Then he was worthy of her. >_>
