To me the art makes all the characters look to pretty and cutesy which tends to be unappealing to me... its not that quality its the lack of it being unique.

Objectification in terms of the large quantities of smut lol. IDK I don't feel comfortable in fandoms which have a lot of yaoi because i don't like it or shipping in general. I just don't connect with it.

But thats good that the fandom is nice at least... XD;;

U-um, hi!

I agree with a lot of what poisontea said. In the secret, I was mainly referring to the fandom being so overwhelmingly nice (at least what I've seen of it); the fact that so many people can come together over such a potentially offensive series and have basically NO wank in the fandom is pretty much astounding to me and it makes me appreciate them a whole lot.

ALSO, I HAVE YET TO SEE ANY SHIPPING WARS. *knocks on wood* this might be because all the countries pretty much have some sort of history/interaction with each other so it's really easy to see how someone could ship a particular pairing, but hey, I'm not complaining xD

Though I do like the series a whole bunch too. I'm a sucker for adorable/cutesy things and I've been the biggest history geek forever, so it's pretty much a win-win situation for me.
Plus, I know a lot of fans who are also not interested in shipping and are more into the history, which leads to some really neat fanworks/etc. Some people probably like what comes out of fandom more than the comic itself, haha.
