ASMR

Do you listen? Do you make some yourself?

What's your favorite kind? Least favorite kind?

Do you listen to the boyfriend/girlfriend ones? The random noises ones? People eating ones?


The only ones I've enjoyed have been
1. Paper bag being crinkled
2. Not really ASMR, just a Scottish dude breaking down and talking about different electrical components (interesting, but makes me sleepy)
3. The sounds of someone sleeping on a rainy night (technically boyfriend ASMR, but I can't stand the fucking talking and whispering bullshit. I just wanna hear someone sleeping on a rainy night as I try to sleep on a rainy night. I don't want a fucking conversation. Sorry, that was aggressive lol)

What about you, F!S? What do you think of ASMR and what do you like to listen to if you do?

I can’t stand asmr usually. The sounds tend to gross me out. But I did find chalk crushing to be kind of nice to listen to. Drives my pica nuts though lol.

What's a popular treat/snack in your country? Be it sweet or salty, made by a factory or a grannies.

What about songs? What's a popular song in your country or area? Doesn't have to be recent, can be old, folk, traditional, etc.

Funny you should mention folk songs. I've been listening to a lot of justice themed songs for inspiration lately, and that has included a bunch of traditional protest songs. A few favorites would be We Shall Overcome, The Times They Are A Changin, Masters of War, Zombies (not folk, but a traditional protest song), I Ain't Marchin Anymore, Oh Freedom, and A Change is Gonna Come.

Emotional hurt/comfort. I don't mind if it does or doesn't have smut with it, but I'm always a slut for a story that can potentially make me cry but ends well with a happy ending.

My go-to is harems or sex-slave fantasy settings where the slaves/concubines are superhappy with their situation. They love the sex, they live in comfort and luxury and spend their days having orgasms and chilling by the pool.

My secret guilty pleasure is where slavery is *mostly* bad BUT this one slaveowner is really kind and protective and caring for their slave and so their situation is good and they like it and also the slaveowner Respects them as a person

Two very guarded, private people realize that they trust each other implicitly and love and care for each other, and they comfort each other physically and emotionally through hurt and comfort, and learn to be vulnerable and trusting with each other, and also they're physically deeply drawn to each other and bang a lot

Two main things, I think.

1: Drinking or recreational drug abuse, particularly to excess or clearly as a pattern of addiction. Which is strange because I don't drink or anything. I think it's the idea of loss of control that does it. Especially if one character winds up having to take care of the other. It can have sex if it must, but I'm ace and it holds no interest to me next to the other stuff.

2: Suicide attempts/ideation. Bonus if another character discovers/stops them and helps them through recovery. Again, if sex is involved it won't make me not read it but it's not a factor (unless it's like "I just stopped you from killing yourself by confessing my love and now we're happily banging and everything's fine" at which point it's a negative factor).

I would read it if I could find it done in-character for characters I like, but usually I can't, so I write a lot of it. And then sometimes edit it out of the stuff I actually post. :P

I'll look for fix-it/alternate ending fic for anything that ends less than happily ever after.

I know it's not even a real thing that people are happy forever because death, etc. But my brain wants the nice thing.
