What Xichen did wrong was basically believing and trusting one sworn brother over the other which kind of looks a bit like wilful ignorance. It's more what he didn't do instead of what he did do. Not that it's a major moral failing. I also think it's silly to pretend like he never would leave seclusion after getting over himself.

All the way through The Untamed I assumed JGY and LXC were lovers. There was so much chemistry plus I assumed LXC being in love with him had blinded him to JGY's slips.

When Qin Su was introduced I was honestly baffled.
