THIS.
I miss having a friends list full of people to discuss Japanese stuff like Jpop and Jdrama with. Nowadays everyone's into Kpop and Kdrama which I like well enough, but they don't have the same charm for me as their Japanese counterparts.

And the 2007 HanaKimi was *so good*.

It's Cdramas now.
I like some Jdramas but haven't been able to find anything to interest me this whole year. I tried some classics - Nobuta wo Produce, but could get into school themes.

Ooh, what were your favorites, OP? I used to be really into Japanese, Korean, and Chinese dramas way back in the day because my TV only got a couple of channels and a few showed subtitled dramas. I was also really into K- and J-Pop, but at the time, nobody else around me was into any of that and didn’t get why I would listen to music I didn’t understand or watch a show that needed subtitles.

Not OP but I loved Hotaru No Hikari and Ashi Girl. What are your faves?

Goong and Coffee Prince were my favorite K-dramas. There was another one that I really enjoyed, but for the life of me, I can’t remember the title. It had this guy and girl who couldn’t stand each other (even though they were lovers in a past life), but they slowly grew to love each other. The drama was mostly set in modern day, but it sometimes flashed back to the past lives of the guy and girl.

The J-drama for Absolute Boyfriend was really cute, even though it was pretty different from the manga. I also liked Densha Otoko.

Mars was another favorite of mine and it has the distinction of being the only one my friends watched and thought was pretty good.

I love Coffee Prince! It was one of the irst doramas I watched. One of the most realistic genderbending series.
Goong and Densha Otoko look good.

I still love Jdramas. Can’t get into C because Chinese names are too confusing and the subtitles I’ve seen are too fast.

As for Kdramas I can follow those a little better but it’s still hard for me. I think it’s because I’m too used to Japanese speech and it doesn’t sound fast to me anymore.

I wish Netflix and other sites would stream good Jdramas but it’s a lot of C - D listings.

I miss J-pop and J-rock supremacy. So goddamn much.

J-Rock was my shit (well, a little bit, lol). GACKT and others in the vein that I've seen mentioned here in the past were before my time/while I hadn't gotten into it yet. But High & Mighty Colour...
