I did say in the comment thread that I approve of the new format because it's covid-safe. I'd rather have a show at all than nothing because it's not safe to film things where people might be next to each other.

I'm watching it right now in the lead-up to the season finale, and it's not the format or even Carla that's annoying, it's the bakers. which is the foible of any cooking competition show. but for a mix of pros and amateurs I was expecting much better cakes than what we got.
