TBH I don't really trust anytime someone says somebody else "needs to be taken down a peg"

This doesn't really make sense to me, unless you believe there's never anyone who ever needs to be taken down a peg.

Generally, someone who goes out of their way to say and try to 'take someone down a peg' are actually the ones with giant chips on their shoulders who project their hangups on anyone that fits into their personal issues.
Not that they're always wrong, but it's certainly a type. At least in my experience that is.

Eh. I guess I didn't think it was such a common phenomenon that I'd NEVER trust anyone who says this.
