I think this is a good point, yeah. A sex scene can be very hot and well-done, but they do seem to be so commonplace now to where it dulls the impact that kind of scene should have. It just feels like something from a checklist, rather than something that fits the story. I have no problem with a good sex scene in a show or movie, but I want it to feel earned, not just there because "We must have a sex scene, all the others have them!".
