Even figuring that I'm probably one of the creepy annoying Nia fans, you are pretty much right on the money. ):

What about the Yoko fans? Most of the male ones seem to be guys who are convinced that she's their girlfriend, but that's nothing new in anime fandom.

Ah, yoko, most of her male fans don't watch gurren lagann, they just downloaded all of the doujinshis with her boobs the size of yoga balls

She has some pretty cool female fans though. Nice people etc. She got some pretty sweet character development toward the end, and I hear there's more in the movie.

Yeah, that's my experience. With the exception of the inevitable handful of girls who glom onto every "strong / fighting" female character just because she has a gun, most of her female fans are pretty cool.
