Um, just last week, I think. It's kind of odd how vocal the fans are with the OH LOL WE'RE SO TIRED OF THIS SHTICK; JUST STOP ALREADY. Twilight fans and SPN fans and other folks had to take it in stride; now it's your turn, Hetatards.

The secret is sticking to your own playground. I mean, F!S is pretty much recognized as open grounds for poo-flinging and the airing of grievances, justified or not, so, y'know, I don't think any fan has any right to complain. If they were trolling the fandom's communities, then you would, but this doesn't seem to be the case. And if somebody's going to defriend you over fannish involvement, then it's a sure thing you would have disagreed about something much more important later on.

tl;dr I think this is less of a big deal than everybody's making it.

No, I'm saying that negative behavior is kind of what's to be expected on this community. It would be nice if people had actual discussions, but when the conversation openers are "I HATE EVERYBODY WHO LIKES THIS SERIES" and the rebuttals are "STFU, I DON'T CARE," then I don't think anything's going to change anybody's mind.

If people come looking for a fight, that's fine, and it's probably better that it be contained--F!S is like a community pressure valve, in a way--but if you don't want to be involved, then it's easy enough to miss.

What if we're tired of the constant Hetalia-hate AND were/are tired of the constant hate for Twilight and SPN and pretty much whatever is popular to hate on at the time, too? D:

Seriously, I think if people are judging an entire fandom for a small portion of the fandom, or judging a person for one fandom/detail of fandom they like, REGARDLESS OF THE FANDOM, they're being insulting dumbasses. It's irritating to see this shit happen in cycles, like people have always got to have some petty reason to hate other people. Blah.
