109. in all ten years of being in fandom, what the hell have you been in if you're only now finding such a friendly one? there will be bitches everywhere you go, but it's the smaller fandoms that are nicest in my opinion- i have never seen wank in the communities i moderate for minute and/or dying fandoms. ITT: WE PRAISE HETALIA FANDOM FOR BEING TOTALLY COOL AND ACCEPTING AS IF THAT WERE ORIGINAL.

Never said other fandoms were bad, or weren't nice, I've experienced many great fandoms, this one is just the best :)

While Hetalia fandom isn't massive (like HP or something) it is pretty damn active. For such an active comm, I would expect more wank, especially given the subject matter. So I can see what the OP is saying.

Also, they may never have been a member of a small fandom, it's not that hard. Until recently I had never been a member of one either, as fandoms generally just found me because they were hard to miss. Rather than me going looking for the fandom of something I liked.

Hatalia fandom is one that found me, through F!S :)

For someone who likes the more arty side of fandom, Hetalia is a dream. Wank free (outside of FS) and full of good fanart.

I wouldn't say it's my fav, as my first fandom will always hold that place, because that's where I made most my friends and learned the ropes (even though it was petty stressful, huge and batshit). But Hetalia is coming in second :)
