Me too, OP! I love it when actors ends up becoming friends after playing friends on TV. And it makes me a little sad whenever I find out that the actors playing friends didn't get along in real life.

Same.

It puts me off entirely.

I can't suspend my disbelief, I guess?

It RUINED Castle for me, haha.

This is going to sound strange, but I always feel slightly weird about it if the vibe of the RL friendship seems dramatically different from the vibe of the characters' friendship. Like, tonal dissonance.

Friendship is nice

I agree.

But I also like off-screen friendships even when their characters don't get along on-screen. Basically, it just makes me happy to know that people enjoyed their experience. Plus it makes the promotional stuff a joy to watch.

I love that, too! There's just something funny about picturing these two people who are fighting on screen going and hanging out together after filming :p.

I remember hearing something a while back about how the actors who played Buddy and Mel on "The Dick Van Dyke Show" would get together for drinks and come up with the jokes and barbs their characters would sling at each other on the show. Which is hilarious and awesome :D.

This is really sweet, I'd hope so too.

When I was a kid in the 70s I just loved the show Emergency!, about LA County firefighters/paramedics. Just recently I learned the two lead actors, who played the paramedic partners Johnny and Roy, have been best friends ever since. It made me so happy!

That's one of the things I like about Horrible Histories!

Me too op :)
It's cute to see people with great friendships outside their roles.
(Examples I can think of include the Supernatural actors. All three- Jensen, Jared and Misha are obviously such great friends it's just awesome to see. Then there's the marvel actors; Chris Evans and RDJ, Chris Evans and Scarlett Johannsen, RDJ and Mark Ruffalo, and (my faves) Tom Hiddleston and Chris Hemsworth :))

There's something really sweet about casts who become close, where you'll see them continue to interact or talk about each other fondly, not as people who used to be friends, but as people who are still very much in each other's lives.

I generally love it when I hear about the cast and crew really getting along and having fun behind the scenes - so much so that it really improves even trashy movies for me. I also think it's often noticeable in the movies as well.

Yes, I love this. And also what was mentioned above when actors become great friends while playing characters who are not. Yay, friends!

Me too i feel so disappointed when i find out they were not even friends when i found out james and david (spike / angel ) were not or are not friends. It hurt. I love friends who are coworkers on shows like mindy kaling and bj novak from the office are legit best friends and i love it .
