I read a lot of BL, and don't really mind the seme/uke dynamic, as long as the uke isn't a weak, useless character (the same reason I hate the whole damsel in distress who can't do anything without a man trope). I do enjoy when mangakas switch it up though, like Bohra Naono who often has an older seme/younger uke in her stories.
