Ugh, I'm with you. For the longest time I avoided BL as a genre, and then I realized, I started to ship guy characters (from any genre!) in general if I saw a dynamic, but the dynamic I saw was always based upon the character's personalities and what I found realistic. Sometimes that did fall into stereotypes! But more often than not, it was unique to those two characters.

When I meet other fans who are into BL as a genre, I feel like the odd one out. Even if you'd probably call me a fujo just looking at my fanart collection.
