I do my best to pretend that there isn't such a thing because a sword is not a fucking sex toy and I can't believe how often I've said that in my life. It's almost as bad as the first sex scene in Scum Villain, which is saying a lot.

I mean you'll be cleaning off a lot bodily fluids anyways, including some of the more... uh, viscous ones, every time you use it. So typical sword cleaning should probably cover it.

Eh, the sword's pommel doesn't usually get so drenched in...stuff...in battle. Most of it is going to end up on the blade and maybe the guard--if sword grips/hilts/pommels regularly got that gross, they wouldn't be that decorative in the first place, because they'd be a giant pain in the ass.

That being said, maybe canon-novel-Bichen isn't so fancy, I don't know. Might be more, uh, palatable?

I skimmed through the linked chapter up there...it explicitly described Bichen as having lots of carvings, etc. So no, I don't think it's any less fancy.

I mean I kinda agree. Maybe not that specific sword given the pointy bits, but a sword hilt/sheath is not the strangest/worst object insertion I've seen by far.
