The Mandalorian should really cut down the "baby Yoda eats everything in sight, and the more disgusting, the better" jokes. They are getting old fast.

Thank you! Someone else said it so I didn't have to.

The writing has been so uneven and Din is NOT coming off as a good "parent." So, this is "Baby Yoda eats big lizard spawn eggs" just wasn't funny after like the 2nd time. Din, get with the program.

DA - I haven't seen 2x02 yet, and going back to the same well for a joke more than a couple of times is almost always tiresome, so I might agree with you about the "baby yoda eats things" bit getting stale.

But I definitely don't think Mando is meant to be a "good parent" yet, and whether he'll ever truly get there is still very up in the air. I wouldn't want him to be a good parent at this point in the story. He's not even a parent, let alone a good or bad one. He has grown attached to this child and protective of it, but I don't think he thinks of himself as the child's parent, and therefore the way he behaves towards the child is different than the way a parent behaves. To me, that's solid and interesting characterization. Making Mando a good parent this early in the game would feel cloying and forced, imo.

why would he be a good parent? he at best sees himself as a delivery man with a cute vulnerable package
