Hard same.

If I'm into a setting with magic/powers then I don't see the appeal in removing that for a run-of-the-mill normal-person AU where the only thing they have in common with their canon-selves is the names. To me they don't even feel like the actual characters they're supposed to be either, just OC's with the canon-names slapped on to get more clicks.
