Really? I remember getting dogpiled for a secret where I confessed to wanting to write a fic where someone was trans and being nervous about getting it right. I got comments along the lines of "You will NEVER understand what it's like to be trans so don't bother."
Guess who turned out to be trans?

And what does you being trans has to do with the comment above? I swear, it's like vegans telling everybody that they are vegans out of the blue regardless of the topic.

It’s on-topic; I’m pretty sure they’re saying they received hostile responses that didn’t take the possibility of OP being trans (or questioning being trans at the time) into account. I get what you’re saying about f!s being more of an echo chamber now, anyway, and miss when there was more discussion, but there’s definitely been some positive shifts as well imo.
