I think it's abhorrent, disgusting, and immoral to write sexually explicit material about a real-life minor. I think the writer ought to feel shame for creating and posting such a thing.

But people aren't staying focused on the author. They're turning their anger on AO3 for allowing this kind of content at all. And as gross as the story in question seems to be (I haven't looked it up myself), it's just fiction. It's legal, and AO3's policy has always been to allow all legal content.

I agree with the policy even though I think some of the content it protects is reprehensible, and I monetarily support AO3 even knowing shit like this is posted there.

Anyone who disagrees with AO3's TOS is free to make their own archive with whatever rules they consider suitable.
