I dunno, I think it's foolish to assume that we can just *poof* change something that's inherantly human nature. If we all just learned to get over it and treat each other equally in spite of minority and/or thoughtcrime, eventually it would fade away for lack of acknowledgement.

Except that's not what the song is about. The song is about how it's okay to tell racist jokes and act like a fucking prejudiced asshole because "everyone's a little bit racist". Since anyone who gets offended is racist, then no one can ever call you out on your racism. So instead of trying to get rid of prejudice, we should try to have a little fun with it. My theory is that whoever wrote it loves making racist jokes and is hoping that this song will make it socially acceptable.

Yeah, the problem with that logic is that plenty of things that are inherently human are frowned upon. That's what being civilized and living in a society is about.

I agree that people should confront their own racism, and that nearly everyone has some form of it, but that doesn't really mean it's something to celebrate.
