I'm pretty TOS-centered myself — I watched enough of TNG to know that Picard is annoying and Q is the best villain ever. XD It's actually fun to know that people are still getting into the series. I watched it in the afternoons after middle school, and it was already old news by that point.

XD I really enjoy TOS. I ordered the DVDs (Christmas gift to myself... haha) and I'm super excited about it. Fandom intimidates me though :x Ack.

Lol, to be honest? I never really got into the fandom. I poked my nose into some fanfiction, but it's just... I loved the action on the screen so much that I've never really needed extra. If you ever find yourself in a place where you can find it, I really recommend Best Destiny (by Diane Carey). It's a novel about Kirk's past, and it's amazing. (On the same note, I could probably point you to a few 'fics that I really enjoyed, but they're all super gen, I haven't quite managed to get the series away from the childhood it was part of. They're also really old. I haven't really revisited TOS for a while.)

It's not so much fanfiction and all that that I really want, it's basically just having people to talk about it with that would be nice. Thus why I replied to this secret. :P Most fandoms don't really scare me, but from what I've heard Trek fandom is scary. I will check out that novel, though, if I find it anywhere. :)

I have a bad habit of lumping it all together. XD I may go seeking some kindred spirits when the movie comes out, but for now I've been slowly building up friends from other fandoms. (: Please do! The one thing I regret most about not really having any Trek friends is that I can't get more people to read that book.

I'm hoping when the movie comes out that I'll find out that some of my friends were secretly into TOS or I can otherwise convince them to get into it. Thanks for the recommendation though! Hooray.
