(Okay, yes, I would ship boy!Honduras and girl!Belize too, but that's because they're tiny countries that get along relatively well for being colonies of different countries--Spain for Honduras and UK for Belize--and they're relatively stable compared to other Central American countries.)

As for the shipping thing, well, that's like a bonus on top of everything. I'd be just as fine with the history part, especially when you've got a country that starts a war over the results of a soccer game and the theft of a few stadium toilets.
