As someone who found out there was The Thick of It fanfic about a decade too late, there are so many things that are hilarious to me.

Top of that list is probably the number of Brexit and Covid fics that seem to have popped up recently. Closely following is the fact that EVERYONE is horny for Peter Capaldi, which as a DW fan I don't blame them for but it's hilarious.

What I never expected, tho, is how many people would take Peter Capaldi's punk band and just ROLL with it. What's even funnier is that it sort of works.

It totally works. I know he's based on Alastair Campbell and from the boring side of Labour and all that, but Malcolm Tucker as an 80s punk during the Poll Tax riots is a better backstory.

Ooh, can you share some of those fics? I just finished watching The Thick of It. I wasn't horny for Peter Capaldi, but I can see why people would be.

I haven't seen this show (heard of it, though), but the mention of fic writers referencing Capaldi's punk band have me curious to read the fics now, because Craig Ferguson was in that band as well. So now I want to see how these writers work that element in :D.

The Thick of It is totally how I see politics (what can I say, I'm jaded - I did also study politics) and it has taken on a whole new life in the Brexit/Covid era with Cummings as the new Tucker.

I keep meaning to meaning to make a secrety on this and never getting round to it.
