134 - I love that series! Didn't much like her Heart of Myrial (Shadowleague) stuff though, but I have fond, fond memories of Aurian - that character influenced me in more ways than I think I want to admit to! And yeah, UKer here too. Didn't realise she was better known here than anywhere else.

I'm actually not from the UK... I'm from North America and found Aurian at the library. Trying to order her books in stores over here or even getting them from Amazon is a PAIN!

But seriously. Where is the fandom? You'd think with so many likable characters and love triangles that shippers would just latch right on. Not that I'm big on the idea of Vannor/Forral slash, but at least if there was a place for fans to talk, you know?

Hm, I always find it odd which books get a fandom and which don't. You're right, this particular series has all the right elements for it. I sometimes think that a series that's too...complete? Has already filled the big gaps? Provided what the fans want to see? ...something like that, tends not to have a fandom, or at least, only a tiny one, since there's less inclination to sit down and either "Put things right" or add bits in. (I'm sure there's counter-examples to disprove that theory though, which leaves me even more confused as to why some authors gain a fandom and some don't.)

I certainly haven't seen anything here on LJ for her work, and to be honest I tend to focus on the communities here or on IJ. As for slash for the series, if it works then sure. I think I'd be more interested in canon pairings though to be honest. :/9

134. Aurian! ♥ Awww, good memories. I'm also from the US and the books were published here only in paperback, so from the sound of it, they're much harder to find than they once were. I still have them on my shelf. Now I might have to read them again, haha.

134 - Another American fan here. Found them at the library ages ago, bought my own copies soon after, and it's been one of my favourite series ever since. I liked her Heart of Myrial series, but it did take me a bit to actually get into. It's missing that hook at the beginning that Aurian's books had.

And I think 'Aurian' is a beautiful name for a girl. If I ever have a daughter, years from now... xD

I read the first one of the Myrial series, if it's worth carrying on then I'll look into the others. Just at the time I guess I was hoping for it to catch my attention like Aurian did. :/9
