168. I don't know if this has been answered yet, but I found this (http://www.amazon.com/Botswana-1939-1945-African-Historical-Monographs/dp/0198207646) after taking five seconds to Google. I know barely anything about Botswana but I would be hardpressed to find a country that WASN'T somehow involved in WWII through some way, even if it was just how it was affected.

It's kind of sad how many people don't seem to realize that WWII affected Africa too.

There's this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Participants_in_World_War_II) as well. Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, and South Africa are all mentioned for their roles in the war.

And yes, what you said is very true. WWII was truly a global war.

Thank you. As someone who spent a huge chunk of this decade studying history it pains me to know that there are still people who think that Africa was not involved in WWII. North Africa and the Middle East had their own theatres of war. General George S. Patton anyone?

That secret just really pissed me off because it would be SO easy for the OP to just double-check before flaunting his/her ignorance. I did not know anything about Botswana beforehand, but that's why you look things up!

And yes, Africa was a huge part of World War II... and in many ways was one of the more interesting moments. Erwin Rommel? The Desert Rats!? Come on now.
