What I mean is this: I like Emerson because his snarky sense of humor and more cynical personality brings some much-needed bite to the otherwise sweet, whimsical show that is Pushing Daisies. (I love the sweet side of it, too, but Emerson helps keep it from getting over the top, IMO.) Because of that, he's my favorite character on the show. I'd probably still like him even if he was white (or Japanese or Indian or Latino or whichever)--it doesn't have much to do with his race either way.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, I'd much rather have icons for characters I like (regardless of their skintone), than to try to keep an arbitrary headcount so that I'm not perceived as racist. I'd like to see a day when skintone isn't a deciding factor and people (fictional or not) are judged by who they are (personality, values, intelligence, beliefs, etc), not how they look on the outside. If that makes sense? (Hopefully I'm explaining myself well.)
