Maybe I could get really metaphorical about it? I mean, we're talking about souls here, I don't have to describe it strictly in terms of arms and legs and face. I could say stuff about fruit un-rotting, a withered flower turning back to bloom, an abandoned house having its roof made sound and its floors cleared of weeds...

It still feels a bit dodgy, but it's a lot easier to write, and if I can just get this down I can move on and write more of the actual story!

That could also work! I'm not sure if you're posting as you go or waiting until you've got stuff figured out to post. If it's the latter, I'd just write it however you think you can so you can get on with the actual plot. Then, once you're past the block, you might want to take another look at it and adjust if necessary.

Oh, I'm 100% waiting until I have a huge amount written before I even think of posting anywhere - my muse is extremely fickle, and abandoning stories that I've posted makes me very stressed. The problem is that once I get a roadblock in a particular bit of writing, I have a really tough time thinking of anything else. So even though I know a bunch of things happening later in the story, I have just been having the worst time trying to write them as anything but dotpoints! Hopefully once I get this bit of description down, that will change.

I'm a big fan of brackets of the [something cool and hopefully not too problematic happens] variety when I'm drafting and get stuck, but I know that doesn't work for everyone.
