lolwut. It's fine to not like Hetalia, but assuming all fans are shrieking yaoi fangirls? That's ridiculous. As I've said numerous times on F!Secrets, not everyone finds the same things funny. I personally find Hetalia hilarious, and I think the Looney Toons is flat out boring. I don't say Looney Toons is shit, though, because comedy is pretty much impossible to judge objectively. So I don't find it funny. That doesn't mean it's factually not funny. Same with Hetalia.

Also, some people are into history. Hence enjoying the plot. I'm one of them. And the characters may not be masterpieces of characterization, but they're a shit-ton better than most cookie cutter generic anime characters.

Actually, I think according to its F!S defenders, it's possible to like a series for more than the fapping and the buttsex. Since there are deeper fics in the fandom, and fics that pay attention to history and have no shipping in them, and love for, you know, the girls and the het, I should think they have a point. There's stuff out there besides the man...country...sex or whatever it should be called.

Seriously, I get squicked out by the things the yaoi fangirls churn out. I don't want to see two nations passionately kissing unless its part of some crack meme or something. I like the canon for the LOL-factor and the culture tidbits. I know the thing's not PC but as long as the comic doesn't cross the line between polite humor and tactlessness it's all cool. *thumbs up*

It doesn't have a plot, but I think the idea is cute, that it is funny, and I love the characters. I'm just as likely to be shipping one of the girls with one of the guys (or the girls together) than I am to be shipping any of the male countries together. So... yeah, actually, genius. Yeah, there are.
