The charity the money went to is called the First Responders Children’s Foundation and it does include police officers (along with firefighters, paramedics, and and medical technicians). This caused some very mild drama in the fandom, but it blew over pretty quickly and, to my knowledge, it didn't give American Girl any bad PR.

Well, at least it includes medical technicians, though I wish it included doctors and nurses too. They are all front lines these days. But just glad to see people and companies doing good and helping in positive ways these days.
