secret!OP again

I'm really confused, because my pairing is the juggernaut I'm somehow not allowed to dislike how another pairing characterizes the characters? This is kind of ridiculous. It's not like I have ever gone up to a KingSai shipper and said so much as one word of this to them, I'm happy to see them have their little corner of fandom and do whatever they want in it. It doesn't mean that I'm not allowed to dislike what I feel is a really annoying, cringey set of tropes that they seem to lap up. Hence me writing this secret, where people expect to see things you wouldn't say in the general fandom space.

As for juggernaut pairings being OOC, that's a separate problem altogether and one I totally acknowledge. OPM fandom in general has a big problem with OOC characterization (mostly because I think people have a hard time writing a believable Saitama), but that doesn't change the fact that I find KingSai's typical fandom tropes particularly annoying.

None of that means I would bother KingSai shippers with this or say they're not allowed to ship what they ship though? I guess I'm just really confused as to what you're getting at here, that if you happen to like the popular pairing that immediately invalidates your feelings on less popular ones? That doesn't make much sense to me. I've been in the rare-pair situation plenty of times but that doesn't make my feelings somehow more worthy or needing to be protected from criticism because of it. And this isn't even real criticism, just me bitching in a semi-cloistered fandom space away from OPM fandom spaces about something that bugs me.

If you have to rationalize it this much, you already know what the problem is. This ain't it, sis.

other anon is being weirdly pearl-clutchy over you having an opinion, but you're completely okay with your petty dislike, i've got a fandom with a petty dislike of a small ship bc the shippers are notorious for deliberately tagging their cheating fic in the OTP ship tag. i've long since removed their ship from the OTP tag, but that doesn't make their behavior any less annoying and i can find them annoying for doing that.

Get some Big Ship Energy and get over it. Jesus, if even a fandom-encompassing ship isn’t enough, what is? OTP-ers are so weird.
