That is the *only* 'Steve stays in the past' that is acceptable, but not if it means the Bucky that was left behind is alone and lonely for decades because Steve vanished.

*sigh*

MCU and time travel just fucked up so much.

I am ready to live in this version of the MCU, because there is no damned way Steve would have abandoned Bucky.

Canon is wishy-washy on this and I only accept that Steve went to the alternate universe and just changes EVERYTHING, rescues everyone, saves the day all over the place. Shit still goes sideways but then Thanos dies in 2012 and no one knows why! Their universe is just 10x better than the MCU (and ours) and that's just how it is. Full Stop. No I am not accepting criticism at this time.
