I really don't know who in this community this is referring to. I think this place has been very anti-anti (perhaps to a degree that I do not vibe with) for the past couple of months. I can't speak to how this community has been a couple of years ago though.

When you say "anti" what precisely do you mean?

I ask because usually, everyone days that "anti" means specifically someone who doxxes people. But then when it gets used, it doesn't mean that at all, it just kinda generally means anyone whose shipping opinions you disagree with

I haven't seen doxxing attempts in my fandom. Usually when the word anti gets tossed out people it's because an artist is lashing out against people for critiquing them or not being into the same thing about them.

On to the main topic, I'm going to say that in my fandom people are dealing with the problems of call out culture, and twitter fandom opinions being angry towards everything that is not sunshine and fluff. However, our anti-antis are also racist and keen on making porn of the one explicitly child character there is, so people aren't keen on labeling themselves an anti-anti either. The most neutral thing I can say is that opinions on what an anti and anti-anti is can vary depending on your fandom.

Antis, in general, mean groups of people who think the kind of fiction you like is in direct correlation with your morality as a person, wax poetic about the poor children who will be groomed somehow by the existence of "bad" ships, and often congregate together for vicious harassment campaigns, which can include doxxing. You don't have to dox someone to be an anti, but you're an anti if you think someone is a genuinely bad person for liking Sheith and throw the word pedophilia around like it's nothing. They target big name animators and small fandom artists alike. It has never, ever, meant "someone with shipping opinions you disagree with". It's "someone who thinks you're okay with harming kids because of the ships they like".
