Holy shit seriously? She actually ended the sequel the same exact way!??! Did Leon ever show back up too or did D just pull the whole "oh well bye" move on Leon 2.0 and we don't get any resolution to the Leon side of things at all?

I need to know what the mangaka was on when she decided this would be a good idea. The ending feels like such a 180 slap in the face for fans of the series. I thought it was such a cute, sweet series for so long only to get that garbage fire of an ending. :/

To be clear I know it was a monster-of-the-week horror-esque manga, but the main cast was clearly more important and you were meant to bond with and enjoy the characters, that's what I meant by "cute and sweet". It was fun watching them bond.

Spoilers (obviously): Leon finally tracked down D and just as he was coming to the building, D found out that he was coming. D then left Leon 2.0 alone to the pet shop and ran to the airport. Leon 1.0 found Leon 2.0, the pet shop turned into a regular building, and Leon 1.0 left to chase down the count again.

And in the final pages D is flying somewhere with a mysterious suitcase.
